Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was started at the time of inception of the college in 1990. Mathematics has a pervasive influence on our everyday lives, and contributes to the wealth of the country. Mathematics is widely used in different areas of science and technology. The syllabus for this programme has been designed in such a way that the students can pursue higher studies in Mathematics.

The department is offering post graduate course in Mathematics from 2002-2003 onwards. This course will provide the students with the opportunity to learn a core of advanced applied mathematics, together with a range of more specialized options. This will equip the students with a range of mathematical skills in problem solving, project work and presentation. This will enable the students to take a prominent role in a wide spectrum of employment and research.

At Present we have 174 Students in UG and 35 Students in PG Mathematics Association: MASADE – [Modern Algebra Statistics Analysis Differential Equations] create innovative mathematical skills,train students to become great Mathematician to promote Mathematical knowledge.

The Department boosts of a healthy student teacher relationship, with teachers being always accessible to students and students reciprocating the attention by spontaneous love and respect.

The department has produced 50 rank holders at university level, we have secured 42 ranks at UG level and 8 ranks at PG level. So far our department has bagged 5 first ranks and 4 second ranks at university level. The department has a good library. The department has an association which conducts MASADE every year. It encourage the students to appear in a competitive examinations and UGC NET / SET examinations.The Department activity take part in the Cluster college Programme conducted by the Colleges in our district.
