Department of Commerce

The department of Commerce came into existence in 1990 with an objective of generating competent professionals to meet the challenges in the field of commerce. The department has marched steadily and crossed several mile stones and achieved academic excellence in the field of commerce. Being a very rural area, the input is naturally below average level. Due to the effort of the department, the output is very good.

The department has produced 23 Rank Holders at University level. So for our department has bagged 2 First Rank, 1 Second Rank at university level.

The Department is offering Post Graduate course in Commerce from 2002-2003 onwards. The aim of the department is empowering each department in academics so thoroughly that it broadens their perspective in life and preparing each of them to meet the challenges in life in a highly competitive world. It encourage a students to appear in a competitive examination and UGC NET/SET examination.

The department has produced 11 rank holders at university level. So for our department has bagged 4 First Ranks, 2 Second Ranks at university level.

The department has an excellent team of teachers. Department has six permanent teaching faculties, one part- time Auditor and one part –time Lawyer. The department is regularly organising State – Level Seminars, Inter- Collegiate competition and Cluster College Meet to enlighten and enrich the academic community. The department has an association which conducts Paper Presentation, Business Quiz, Model Display, Poster Presentation, Varnajallam every year. It is one of the most academically vibrant and dynamic department.
